I was trying to hold out in hopes that my next post would be good news that we've broken ground in clearing the land for our next neighborhood, Brownswood Place. Such is not the case. Though there are good things happening, so I felt it even more wrong to not post on those items. For today, I'll tackle a church build! :) I mentioned in an earlier post that two churches are splitting the sponsorship of a house, well, the work began on April 14! The house will eventually go into Brownswood Place, but until then, we were able to "pre build" the walls of the home - think modular home.
James Island Presbyterian Chruch and James Island Christian Church sent enthusiastic volunteers over two Saturdays and JIPC has already fundraised more than their pledged $26,500! Amazing - talk about God moving, this church is big, but certainly not huge...about 800+ members...and they raised this much within 2 months!
The picture above is of Maria with their four children. The second picture is of Jose & Maria Macias on the first day of building their home. They are a great family & three of the kids have even earned scholarships to be enrolled in private schools!
